3…2…1… Happy New Year!!!!
Clang, clang, clang go the noisemakers! POP – goes the champagne cork. 2016 is here!!!
As you say goodbye to last year, take a moment to review and reflect on the good things that came your way during those previous twelve months.
I know it’s easy to focus on disappointments instead, but that doesn’t get you very far. Remember, your thoughts create your reality so if you want to have a kick-ass year, the best thing you can do is start it off on a high note.
As the year goes by, pay special attention to all the fabulous, delicious, wonderful moments that you’ve experienced. As they happen, write them onto slips of paper and place them into your Good Things Jar.
This can be any kind of vase, jar, container, box, or vessel that you like. You can decorate, bedazzle, paint it or cover it in stickers if you want to, or keep it plain and simple. The choice is yours.
The key, is to capture and document things that make you feel GOOD and add them to the jar as the year goes by.
Some of the things I like to include are:
- Surprise gifts
- Accomplished goals
- Beauty of nature
- LOL moments
- Special memories
- Daily blessings
The sky’s the limit. Write down whatever you like. If it makes you feel good then add it to your jar.
Then, on New Year’s Eve (or New Year’s Day) open your jar and read and reflect all the good things that you experienced during the past year!!
Not only is this a great year-end ritual, but if you’re having a really tough day, or going through a difficult time, open your jar right then and there and read through all the things inside. This practice really goes a long way to lifting your mood and allowing you to see all the good in your life.
So are you ready?
Then what are you waiting for? Gather your paper and pens, pick out your jar, and let’s get this party started!
