So who out there suffers from “insecure-itis”? Anyone? Anyone?
Do you find yourself subscribing to dozens of email lists because you feel like there’s just no way in heck that you could ever figure out how to write juicy copy, work social media like a pro, or create a freedom-based lifestyle that allows you to help others while doing what you love?
While it’s wonderful to have coaches, mentors and gurus out there who can help us, sometimes being on all those email lists does a number on our self-esteem. We see all the wonderful things they are doing and wonder if we can ever compete or live up to that level.
Nobody is immune to those inner critic voices. The key though, is to come up with strategies for dealing with them when they start up. So I’d like to share three of my own mind hacks for blasting through insecurity.
Mind Hack #1 – Super Success Playlist
As you heard in this week’s angel reading, music is a wonderful tool. Not only does it shield us from negative energy, but it also helps clear us from it when it does sneak through. If you want to take this to a whole other level, make sure that the music you listen to is uplifting and positive. I’ve compiled my own Super Success Playlist and on those days when the ego voices kick in, I just crank the tunes and watch my confidence soar!
Mind Hack #2 – I Rock!
Tucked away in the recesses of my Outlook email is a powerful folder called, “I Rock”. Whenever I get a testimonial, nice comment or email note from a client I put it into this file. Then, when I feel down on myself or my inner critic tries to tell me how unqualified I am to do what I am doing, I just read through all the comments and tell myself, “Heck yeah! I rock!” Confidence restored.
Mind Hack #3 – Re-Write the Negative Soundtrack
I have a list of personal affirmations that I have crafted (or had downloaded to me) that I use to re-write the negative soundtrack in my mind. Some of my favourites are “I was BORN to do this” and “Everything works out for me.” Give them a try. They are pure gold, baby!!
Now it’s your turn…
