WHAT AN AMAZING DAY I had yesterday! It began with me soaking in the glorious beams of the full super moon through the car windows as I drove my kids to the bus and seeing a falling star at the same time!
And although I had a busy day doing back-to-back 2017 Forecast Readings, I had a blast! I love sharing what’s on the horizon with my clients and I especially love their feedback!
They’ve been telling me they now feel prepared and set-up for what they want to do this new year and that their reading confirmed that they’re going in the right direction. In general, they’re feeling excited, enthusiastic and motivated. YAY!
Each year when I do forecast readings, there tends to be a couple of over-riding themes that come up in pretty much everyone’s reading and this year is no different.
So the big message the Universe wants to share with you for 2017 is about Self Care!
It’s a super timely message too, partly because at this time of year, we tend to fall in the trap of holiday overwhelm and feel like there’s never enough time to get everything done.
Many of you out there are cutting back on sleep just to add a few more hours to the day, but that’s probably one of the worst things to do. In fact, it’s important that we honour our need for sleep especially on the tail end of this super moon which can make you feel extra tired and drained.
So I’m here to remind you that it’s OKAY to follow your instincts when it comes to your needs. If you need to nap go for it! It’s not a luxury, it’s a necessity! You’ve heard it before. If you’re not at your optimal best, how can you best serve your family, friends or clients?
And speaking of luxury, I had a huge A-HA, light-bulb moment in the shower about a year ago. I remember going over my to-do list and feeling that wave of overwhelm start to wash over me when I stopped and thought, I’m in control here. My schedule doesn’t control me. I’m able to CHOOSE what I spend my time and energy doing.
So you won’t believe what I decided to do? It’s was so luxurious, so decadent and so brilliant that I knew it had to come from a Divine source.
I decided to dedicate one day every month to ME!
I started calling it a ME DAY and I put it on my calendar in RED and make it a non-negotiable. Each ME DAY I do whatever the hell I feel like doing. If I want to take a nap, go for a walk, read a book, have tea with a girlfriend or go shopping I do!! And I do it with absolutely no guilt whatsoever!
If you work full-time and normally eat lunch at your desk while scrolling through email, change that up on your ME DAY. Go outside and get some fresh air, have lunch with a friend, take a noon yoga class or read a great book. If you’re a stay-at-home mom, don’t wash dishes or do laundry while the kids are napping, take a nap yourself or grab your book and a cup of tea and take that time for YOU! And to my dear fellow women entrepreneurs, STEP WAY FROM THE LAPTOP and phone! Book that whole damn day off on your calendar and enjoy it!
I know your type A personality is screaming that you just can’t possibly use your time so frivolously but guess what? I’d be willing to put money on the outcome of this little experiment. I’m willing to bet that some of the results of your ME Day will include a greater sense of calm, new insights into your work, brilliant and creative sparks of inspiration, a nicer-to-be-around and more grounded YOU, and more!
So who’s with me? Are you willing to give this a shot and really COMMIT? (if you’re still not sure this will work for you, go back and read my blog post Why You Need More Fun In Your Life) and check out my Livestream about “Efforting When You’re NOT in the Vortex!”
Post in the comments below and let me know how you’re going to spend your ME days and then come visit me on my Facebook page and let me know how they are working out for you. I can’t wait to hear your results!!
Till next week,
