Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! While your head may be swimming with thoughts of parties and green beer, mine is busy trying to reconcile the idea of LUCK. Lucky Leprechauns and four-leaf clovers aside, I’d like to say that when people say I’m lucky I kind of get miffed.
That’s because I believe that we CO-CREATE the life we desire not get it plunked in our lap.
For me, luck implies that diligence, commitment, tenacity and plain old hard work have nothing to do with things. Like it’s just a matter of being in the right place at the right time as the Universe sprinkles magic fairy dust in my lap. Yeah right!
The other reason the idea of “luck” makes me mad is because it implies that we are victims. Luck implies that we are at the mercy of whatever the Universe dishes out to us. That we simply just must accept and settle for whatever gets thrown in our laps — good or bad. Well guess what I say to that way of thinking? Bullsh*&, that’s what!
Because here’s how it really works folks…YOU CO-CREATE THE LIFE YOU DESIRE. You are a creator in this production you call life. Together with the Universe, you can make your life exactly the way you want it. You don’t have to just sit idly by and hope that you get “lucky” (insert snicker here). You create your own luck, folks. And whatever you have now (positive or not) you created that too.
Wait…WHAT did she just say???
Now I know I might have just blown your mind. But the truth of the matter is when you want to change a condition in your life, you need to acknowledge your part in it. Louise Hay teaches us to say…”I am willing to release the pattern within me that is creating the condition.”
Try saying this over and over to yourself whenever you think of your challenge. Each time you you say it, you step out of the victim role and acknowledge your own power. You’re saying, “I am beginning to understand that I created this. I now take my own power back. I am going to release this old idea and let it go.”
So here’s a little homework assignment for you. Go to a BIG mirror, look into your eyes and think about something in your life you want to change. Look into your eyes and say out loud, “I now realize that I have created this condition, and I am now willing to release the pattern in my consciousness that is responsible for this condition.” Say it several times and FEEL it. Check in with yourself and see if you really mean it. Convince the YOU in the mirror that this time you are ready to release the burden that this issue has created for you.
And THAT, my friends, is how you create your own luck.
