Imagine if you had a dollar for every decision you’ve made so far in your life? You’d likely be sipping champagne on your multi-million-dollar yacht in the French Riviera (or is that just my fantasy)?
I mean, just thinking about the BIG decisions I had to make in my 20’s is enough to make my head spin. Which career path do I follow? What job do I take? Where should I live? Should I marry my boyfriend? (okay that one was easy). But you get the picture. When faced with choices and options, how DO you make the best decision?
Most people will consult their logical mind, writing out lists of pros and cons, drawing charts, consulting with others, checking into things. Meanwhile, they already have the best answer and their inner GPS is pointing them right to it!
Some people listen (those are the smart ones), others are not there yet (and that’s okay too).
But for those who listen, it can still really be a struggle to get a clear sense of which choice to make and that’s because of our big, fat, beautiful brains. Or more precisely, our thinking and judging mind!
It’s pretty hard to get away from constantly scrutinizing and judging the intuitive guidance we get.
Here’s how the process usually goes:
- You get an intuitive message you don’t understand because it’s just a tiny piece. (Spoiler Alert: intuitive guidance RARELY comes in full and complete forms).
- Because you don’t understand it, you judge it or try to “figure it out”, thereby distorting the message.
This is DANGEROUS because it will likely lead you to make an incorrect conclusion or move in a less-than-optimal direction.
A better process is to gather the intuitive messages in bits and pieces (without judging them or trying to make sense of what they mean). Later on, you will sort them out and put them together – just like completing a jigsaw puzzle.
I’ll be explaining more about this in upcoming blog posts so stay tuned!
For now, stay relaxed and open and enjoy the messages as they come.
