How can I heal my body?
If you suffer from frequent headaches, digestive distress, or have been diagnosed with a chronic illness, you’ve probably asked yourself this question many times. It can be easy to think that you’re just unlucky in life and simply have to live with the hand you’ve been dealt.
But nothing could be further from the truth. Our body doesn’t “gang up” on us. Our bodies love us unconditionally and speak to us all the time. The problem is, we stopped listening! So, if you’ve ever asked yourself, “How can I heal my body?” keep reading.
I am a firm believer that every ailment, sickness, disease etc. stems from an emotional root and once we identify and heal it, our physical problems go away.
With my recent bouts of frequent back spasm, I’ve recognized that there’s something else going on here and I’m making it my mission to answer the question, how can I heal my body once and for all?!
Here are some of my favourite trusted resources to help you identify what’s really going on with your own body and how to heal for good!
- You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay. – Louise Hay was the pioneer of the concept that mental patterns create dis-ease within the body. This book contains a list of common medical ailments, along with the probable cause, and recommended new thought pattern. After looking up your physical problem and the probable cause, see if it could be true for you. Then repeat, “I am willing to release the pattern in my consciousness that created this condition.” Repeat the new recommended thought pattern that is suggested and assume that you are already in the process of healing. Whenever you think of the condition, repeat the steps.
EX: If you suffer from frequent headaches the probable cause is listed as “invalidating the self, self-criticism and fear.” The new thought pattern to repeat is, “I love and approve of myself. I see myself and what I do with eyes of love. I am safe.”
- The Secret Language of Your Body by Inna Segal – This book takes the same concept as You Can Heal Your Life but goes much more in depth! It’s received international support from a wide range of prominent doctors, nurses, psychologists and natural health practitioners.
In her own words, the author Inna Segal says, “If we do not pay attention to our feelings and messages from our bodies, then our bodies will assume we do not enjoy life and get us out of here as quickly as possible. I think that is the message of this book – to stop living your untrue self’s life, which others have imposed upon you, and to eliminate not yourself but what is killing you.”
For each ailment, she lists several contributing factors and then details a remedy that uses the power of Divine Healing Intelligence. She also includes processes to identify and release unhealthy emotions, processes to enhance healthy emotions and suggested colours to work with.
- Interview Your Body – this is an intuitive healing technique that came to me after my own struggle with a two-year mystery illness. When no doctor, specialist or naturopath could figure out what was going on, I took matters into my own hands – or voice – as it were. In frustration one day, I yelled, “Body! What do you want???!” Surprisingly, I got an answer! Then I asked another question. And I got another answer and so on and so on.
Our bodies always know exactly what they need, but like I said, we forgot how to pay attention. So, try this… spend some time asking it things like, “Body, what do you need? Body, what do you want more of? Body, what do you want less of? Body, how can I help you?”
It’s best to do this when you have some quiet time to yourself when you will not be interrupted. Get out a paper and pen and spend a few minutes breathing deeply and centering yourself. When you feel relaxed you can begin by writing down your first question. Then write down everything that comes to you. It might be a word, thought, emotion, something you see with your physical eyes or in your mind’s eye, or even something you smell or taste. Write it all down, even if you think it’s not related. WARNING: You will battle your ego the entire time as it will be telling you that you’re just making the answers up. Continue the exercise anyway until you feel like you are done.
I highly recommend doing this exercise every couple of months in order to stay on top of what your body is telling you. Doing so regularly will ensure you don’t end up with a health hiccup that you weren’t expecting!
And even though I KNOW THIS, it’s obviously easier said than done or I wouldn’t be experiencing such frequent back spasms lately.
But we are human. We fall down. We make mistakes. The important thing is that we get back up and continue using the tools and resources that we have.
So, there you go. You now have a few more things you can add to your bag of tricks.
