I remember it like it happened to me yesterday.
It was June 1999. My husband and I were on a camping safari in Botswana and Zimbabwe in Africa. This particular night, I awoke to the sound of an animal padding around the campsite. We had been told that lions had frequented this site before and instantly I imagined the pride moving in. Lying in my sleeping bag, inside the canvas tent I shared with my husband, I listened intently to the movements coming from only a few feet away. Something walked behind our tent, rounded the corner and stopped only inches from where I laid. My right arm was against the tent wall and suddenly I felt something “pawing” against it in an attempt to figure out what I was. My heart was beating so fiercely I felt as if it would burst from my chest! I tried desperately to quietly control my breathing which was now racing so fast I thought I would hyperventilate. After a few minutes, the animal moved away and I quickly moved away from the tent wall. But the animal returned. This time, it laid down beside me and, as the tent wall gently pushed inward along my leg, I could feel that it was the size of a very large dog. All that separated me from this beast, was a layer of canvas.
The fear I felt was so intense that it almost drove me to burst out of the tent running as fast as I could. And then, it happened.
I heard a man’s voice speak to me in my right ear. In an authoritative tone he told me “lie still”. And in that moment, all my fear and anxiety melted away. I felt cocooned in a deep and warm embrace knowing that I would be safe. To this day, I am in awe at how quickly my body went from frenzy to complete and total calm. It happened instantly.
I laid there wide awake for what seemed like an eternity. I stared out the window of the tent into the night sky looking for signs that morning was near. And sometime, while it was still dark, the animal left. Not long after, my husband woke and I whispered to him that an animal was outside. Then we heard it – the unmistakeable call of the leopard. It was deep and throaty, like the sound of sawing wood.
As the first rays of light began to warm the dark night sky, our guides awoke. I quickly emerged from our tent to tell them what had happened to me and as soon as it was light enough, they examined the area around our tent and found the leopard’s distinctive tracks.
I have no doubt that it was an angel who visited me that night. He wrapped me in his loving wings and protected me.
Little did I know, at the time, that this was just the beginning of my wonderful relationship with my angels. Today, I am here to connect you to YOUR angels so that you may know the many blessings and messages that they are waiting patiently to bestow upon you.
In love and light,
